We are seeking a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist/Dietitian/Registered Dietitian to join our team.

Opal: Food+Body Wisdom is an eating disorder treatment facility in the University District of Seattle, Washington.  Opal is a local female owned, clinician-led program offering Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient and traditional outpatient services. Job Title:  Registered Dietitian Nutritionist


  • Be a part of five-person nutrition staff team.  
  • Provide 1:1 nutrition counseling for patients at our higher levels of care programs--Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient; which includes on-going assessment, treatment planning, meal/menu planning, nutrition education, counseling, food experientials (ie grocery shopping, meal outings), etc.
  • Co-lead several meals weekly with mental health co-workers, as a part of Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient client meals. Eat at meals.
  • Co-lead groups, may include groups like: culinary group, grocery shopping outing and nutrition education group.
  • Document all clinically relevant interactions with clients using electronic health record system
  • Collaborate closely with inter-disciplinary team of clinicians


Education/Credential Requirements: 

  • Graduate of an accredited Dietetics program with completion of internship/practice experience.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN); Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
    Certified Dietitian (CD) with the Washington State Department of Health.

Skill Requirements: 

  • Approachable and compassionate, with an emotional awareness of client’s needs and one’s relationship with the client.  
  • A high degree of confidentiality and personal boundary setting; coupled well with value of modeling for clients.
    Adaptable, organized personality and skill set. 
  • High value of collaboration with multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Experience working with eating disorders/offering 1:1 nutrition counseling, highly desirable.
  • Live, behave and talk in a way that reflects a non-diet, weight-inclusive relationship with food and body.

Hours: 32-40 hours.  Monday – Friday.  Hours vary but occur between 7:30am and 6:30pm. Certain hours may be required according to meal and group assignments.

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with experience and market rate.  Food will be provided for meals eaten with PHP/IOP clients.   1:1 nutrition supervision by an RDN.  Staff trainings weekly on variety of topics.  Group staff consultation and supervision weekly.  Health insurance provided with premium health insurance company. Simple IRA.
